Always Keep your Beautiful Imagination & Exquisite Humor

Visit downtown McKinney, Texas:
A hipster girl’s square block of shopping paradise.

Imagine you enter a town where you have blocks of handmade, local stores surrounding a performing arts center.
You walk down one block and find a jewelry studio and across the street are knitting classes.
There's a magic shop where the magicians wear steam punk accessories and then you discover antique shops on every corner.

Not the overcrowded, old antique shops but a beautiful display of different, vintage settings

.
You continue to shop around and stumble upon this gem of a store:

Where your brother purchases this vintage post card for you:

"Always Keep Your Beautiful Imagination & Exquisite Humor"

After being delighted with this gift you stumble upon

This rustic gem is not only a home decor store but it has a botanical section AND a tiny, farm fresh food restaurant inside.

Patina also offers cooking classes and catering to top it off!

I hope you enjoyed your hipster stroll through downtown Mckinney, Texas :)

Hot Pink Wedding

I have this one favorite place to go to pick up some beautiful vintage creations to put in my bouquets.
Parcel Montclair, NJ.

Last time I was there I picked up these hot pink vintage mums.
From there I was inspired to create a gold vase.

DIY Wood Planter Box

Listen up DIY Brides!

I've got a rustic wedding planter you can DIY for $3! "What was that? Shannon nothing costs $3 in 2013!" Oh no, I AM FOR REALS.

Here's the breakdown:

1) You buy this wood container at A.C. Moore:

It's called a cd crate, CD'S ha!
Its originally $3, USE the 50% off coupon A.C. Moore has on their website here

2) Use a walnut color stain and an extra rag or a foam brush:
You can find this stain at Wal-Mart or on Amazon

3) Stain to your preference! For the color below I coated it twice and it dried in less than an hour.

4) Decorate for your wedding!

Love the peonies featured in the rustic planter? Contact me for more information here or at botanicalbox@gmail.com

First Post!

Welcome to the Botanical Box!
I hope to share posts about anything floral, wedding flowers, DIY wedding,  places I've seen,  motivational music, and anything creative or entrepreneurial.

I currently run botanical box, an Etsy shop where I create artificial bridal bouquets and wedding flowers.

The purpose behind this shop was to create the most realistic bouquets for brides who are on a budget.

I'm not going to have $5,000 for flowers with my own wedding but does that really mean I need to sacrifice a couple centerpieces or use cheap looking flowers? Hell no! Hence the birth of my shop!

Besides owning an Etsy shop I'm also a human being!
I live in NJ but a new yawker at heart
I live with my boyfriend and 2 awesome cats.
I dream of an existence where my time is my own but I currently work in physical therapy.
I'm hustling to have not only my own business but an EMPIRE.

None of these flowers were harmed or actually used in bouquets. It turns out, fake flowers make nice cat beds.

P.S. Blog Critiques wanted!
